In this webinar, Lauren Gunther and Philippe Saad of DiMella Shaffer will present an overview of sustainability and energy efficiency requirements in the recently updated Massachusetts energy codes. The Climate Act of 2021 sets the stage for aggressive decarbonization goals in Massachusetts (removal of fossil fuel such as gas and oil in buildings). The new Massachusetts energy codes and additional municipality-specific regulations are creating a patchwork of requirements that need to be carefully considered for each new or existing building. In this webinar, DiMella Shaffer will review the timeline for phasing in these requirements, explain what they mean for new and renovated buildings, give examples of how some towns/cities have additional requirements, and explain potential incentives to help alleviate costs.
