October 20: Technology to Prevent Falls and A.I. Use to Improve Outcomes

With our rapidly aging population in the United States the demand for safe, secure, and high-quality living alternatives will continue to grow. This demand will be a driver for providers to operate and maintain facilities to serve an expanding population with expectations for high standards of care. Currently much effort is being directed at the evaluation of current models of housing and care focusing on what will be needed in the future for improvement and innovation. One important factor which is a critical part of how solutions will be developed is the fact that we may not have available sufficient staff to meet the needs presented. This presentation will discuss how new technology utilizing high quality optical sensors with mature artificial intelligence, will provide real time fall prevention and fall detection with high reliability, immediate alerts when a patient or resident might be at risk, in addition information gathered can support a guided investigation processes to drive improvement.
